Research & Writing

My scholarly research and writings primarily feature interdisciplinary explorations of music theater (a catch-all term for any theatrical work that uses music as a primary method of communication) with particular focus on cross-medium or      -genre adaptation processes.  Topics of interest and past research include but are not limited to: Shakespeare's plays and adaptations thereof in music and film; Restoration literature, music, and proto-feminism and gender anxiety; 19th and 20th Century Russian literature; and modern musical and theatrical developments in opera.

Beyond my scholarly work, I enjoys writing poetry, fiction, and short essays on whatever topic my mind happens to be hyper-fixating on at the moment. â˜º
